MEMBERSHIP GRADES
SIET Membership consists of four main classes [Join SIET]
Membership Grades Admission Criteria
Fellow(FSIET)
  • Age : = 30 years
  • Qualification: Polytechnic Advanced Diploma in any engineering discipline or BEng from NTU/NUS or City & Guilds Master Professional Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent, e.g. BCA - Registered RE [website: www.bca.gov.sg ].
  • Experience: = 5 years in a senior position of responsibility.
Member(MSIET)
  • Age : = 30 years
  • Qualification: Polytechnic Diploma in any engineering discipline or City & Guild- HPDip in Engineering or its equivalent, e.g. BCA- Registered Technical Officer. [website: www.cityandguilds.com/Engineering.html]
  • Experience: = 5 years in engineering or related practice.
Associate Member (AMSIET)
  • Age : = 23 years
  • Qualification:: ITE - Higher Nitec in any engineering discipline or City & Guild - Technician Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Experience: = 3 years in engineering.
Associate (Assoc. SIET)
  • Persons qualified in some other science, art or profession allied to engineering.
Note:There shall be NO direct entry to Fellow grade for new member, except if the below criteria is met.

Direct Admission to Fellowship and Registration as Certified Technical Specialist [FSIET, CertTS]
[Approved by SIET Council on 12 September 2009]
  • Chartered Engineer [CEng(UK)] of the Engineering Council, United Kingdom.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer [CPEng] of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
  • Registered Professional Engineers [PEng] of the Professional Engineers Board, Singapore under the Professional Engineers Act OR its equivalent in other countries.
