(A) Background
SIET Membership Examination and Fellowship Examination are modeled according to the USA
– National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying –
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination and Principles and Practice of

Board
(B) Objectives
1.
To provide an alternative pathway
for those school leavers or working adults to become a qualified Engineering
Technologists.
2.
To provide the participants with knowledge of fundamental engineering
subjects in Engineering.
3.
To train the participant’s ability to apply his knowledge and experience
in engineering practice, and his knowledge of the rules and regulations
regulating the practice of professional engineering in the three main branches
of Engineering (Civil; Electrical; Mechanical).
4.
Be adequately prepared to sit for SIET
– Test of Professional Competency leading to SIET – Certified Engineering Technologist (CertET) and SIET – Certified Technical Specialist (CertTS).

and Recognitions
a.
Certificate of
Attendance
: Participants who attend individual subjects as part of their ‘Continuing Professional Development (CPD)’
with at least 80% attendance will be awarded the SIET – Certificate of
Attendance’.
b.
Certificate of
Completion
: Participants who attend individual subjects as part of their ‘Continuing Professional Development (CPD)’
with at least 80% attendance and passed the written examination will be awarded
the SIET – Certificate of Completion’.
c.
Participants who have successfully passed all the Level 1 subjects will be recognized by SIET as satisfying the
academic requirement for the grade of Associate
Member (AMSIET).
d.
Participants who have successfully passed all the Level 2 subjects will be recognized by SIET as satisfying the
academic requirement for the grade of Member
(MSIET).
e.
Participants who have successfully passed all the Level 3 subjects will be recognized by SIET as satisfying the
academic requirement for the grade of Fellow
(FSIET).
f.
SIET - Certified
Engineering Technologist (CertET) : Participants who passed the SIET Level 2 – Test of Professional
Competency for registration as CertET [Report + Interview + a 1 –hour
written Test (MCQs)] can be registered as SIET
–Certified Technical Specialist (CertTS)

SIET - Certified
Technical Specialist : Participants who passed the
SIET Level 3 – Test of Professional Competency for registration as CertTS

Specialization A – Facilities Management : based on the ‘Facilities
Management Administrator (FMA)’ registration examination of USA-BOMI .
